At Judes, we often say, “It takes a village”—and this is one of those stories.

Not long ago, one of the amazing people in our village noticed a teenage boy who seemed to be doing it tough. Life had thrown some big challenges his way, and connection at home wasn’t easy.

In a passing moment, they made a simple offer: “If he ever wants to come hang out, he’s welcome at ours.”

A few weeks later, the boy’s mum reached out to ask, “Was that offer real?”

It was.

Since then, this teenager has become a regular visitor—sharing meals, doing jobs around the yard, and just spending time with the family. Nothing programmed or polished—just presence.

And each time he heads home, his mum says the same thing:
“I don’t know what you’re doing, but he comes back a different kid.”

This is the heartbeat of Judes. We exist to reform the social strands of the village—so every young person can encounter people of compassion.

This is what’s changing this young person’s life.

And it’s made possible because of people like you.
