At Judes Village, we believe change happens through people. Each week, volunteers step into schools, sports clubs, and community spaces to walk alongside young people. They create safe places to belong, encourage growth and show what genuine care looks like. This month, we want to celebrate four of these incredible people whose commitment is helping young people thrive. Your generosity makes their impact possible.

Kathleen – School Chaplain

Kathleen serves as a chaplain in local schools, and still gave her time to help facilitate our program at Kings Meadows High. The group there was facing major complexities, but Kathleen, shaped by her community at The Branch, helped create a much-needed safe space where young people could thrive.

Bec – Mum, Pastor & Student

Balancing motherhood, pastoral ministry, and study, Bec—connected with Legana Christian Church—helped lead at Exeter High School. The results spoke for themselves: the Exeter cohort improved in wellbeing measures by 10%, a huge step forward for these students.

Honnie – Mum & Home Schooler

Honnie, who is part of The Valley Church, juggles homeschooling her kids while also serving at Exeter. She is fun and easy to connect with, bringing a sense of joy that helped young people feel comfortable and included. One teacher stated that a number of the girls returned in week 2 because of Honnie’s warm welcome. 

Marion – Optometrist & Sports Chaplain

Marion is part of Tailrace and involved in so many corners of its life. She recently finished another season as sports chaplain for the women’s team at the Launceston Football Club—one which was the most meaningful yet! She models consistency and genuine care, both on and off the field.

These four volunteers are just a glimpse of the wider community that makes Judes Village possible. Their stories remind us that when ordinary people step in with time and care, extraordinary impact follows—safer spaces, measurable growth in wellbeing, joyful connection, and steadfast presence.
